See the network
behind a location.

Explore routes and stops around a site, inspect the services that connect it and compare coverage across data sources. Start with the BusMaps network, then switch to individual GTFS feeds or community routes from WikiRoutes.

Four views of the network

Choose a source in the preview, then open that layer on the map.

BusMaps
Routes and stops coloured by transport mode. Inspect the network around a site before planning a journey.
By GTFS feed
Separate the network by its source feed. Search by feed name or ID and select which feeds to display.
WikiRoutes
Explore routes added by the community through crowdsourcing.
BusMaps + WikiRoutes
View both networks together to compare where each source has coverage.

Start with the questions behind your map

  • Which modes and routes connect a proposed location?
  • Which source feeds contribute routes in this area?
  • Where does community coverage add another view of the network?

Find the services around a site

  1. Choose the area and sourceSearch for a place or move the map. Select Transit network, GTFS feeds, WikiRoutes or BusMaps + WikiRoutes in Data layer.
  2. Narrow the viewIn the BusMaps network, choose transport modes and the Frequent, Regular, Local or Unknown frequency categories.
  3. Inspect nearby routesUse Find routes for a route number or agency. Set a radius in metres and select Show at center to search around a location, then select a result.
  4. Share your selectionCopy link saves the map position, layer and filter settings for another person to open.

Read geometry and accessibility filters

Route lines describe the supplied network geometry. Show stop-to-stop geometries includes connections between stops where no route alignment was supplied. Show problematic geometries includes shapes flagged as potentially incorrect.

Check what the source supplies

Accessible only selects agencies that explicitly supplied wheelchair accessibility information. Use route details to inspect the available information for a service.

The network view describes routes and stops. Use Travel areas to calculate a journey-time catchment, or Service frequency for hourly corridor counts in New York.
