Compare locations
by access to public transport.

PTAL scores how easily an area reaches the public transport network: walking time to stops and stations, how often services run and how reliable each mode is. We calculate it from the timetables in our transit database.

One scale, from 1a to 6b

PTAL (Public Transport Accessibility Level) comes from Transport for London. It combines walking time to nearby stops and stations, service frequency and the reliability of each mode into an Access Index, then groups the index into bands.

Our layer uses weekday services between 08:15 and 09:15. Areas with PTAL 0 are not shown.
