SAYR is a mobile app for iPhone and Android that helps passengers find their way by public transport. Enter a destination on your phone to compare routes, see where to board and change services, and follow walking and transit directions on a map.
Developer Youssef Elgabry built SAYR using the BusMaps API alongside regional transport data sources. The app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.

Planning a trip
A trip can start at your current location, an address, a saved place, or a point selected on the map. Search suggestions help you find the destination. You can look for a journey leaving now or choose a departure date and time for a later trip.
The results let you compare journey times, walking distances, and transfers before choosing a route. Opening an option brings up its map and individual walking and public transport stages, including pickup points and arrival details. For a journey involving several changes, these details show how the different parts fit together.
Route explanations and crowding information
SAYR also offers AI-generated explanations of journeys. These turn route details into written instructions to help passengers understand the steps and transfers. Its crowding feature shows how busy a departure area is, helping riders consider conditions at the boarding point as well as the journey itself.
Saved places, alerts, and languages
Home, work, and other frequently visited places can be saved for later searches. Recent searches provide another way to return to a previous destination without entering it again. The app supports English and Arabic and displays regional transport alerts where available.
SAYR Plus on iOS can now turn a place shared from a supported video app into a route.
Using BusMaps transit data
SAYR uses the BusMaps API alongside regional transport sources to show passengers route options, stops, and journey details in its iPhone and Android app.
SAYR advertises support for more than 90 countries. Available routes, transport modes, stops, live information, and alerts depend on the data available in each region.
Available on iPhone and Android
SAYR is free to download and includes advertising and optional in-app purchases. SAYR Plus is an optional subscription offering an ad-free experience and additional benefits; the included features and search limits can vary by region.
